My taskbar won't show opened windows

My taskbar doesn't show opened windows anymore, I didn't
do anything to it, and it just happened, like when I open
a window folder or internet explorer browser, it wouldn't
show the opened window on the taskbar, all I have is
quick launch and stuff. Can anyone please help me?

OK...

Try right clicking on the taskbar. See if LOCK THE TOOLBAR is having a check
next to it. If so, uncheck it by clicking it. Then, you should see little
vertical sliders. They can either look like little vertical lines (Windows
Classic View) or two vertical rows of beveled dots (Windows XP Thematic)...
Look for a few of those sliders. There should be one near your quick launch
and also near your Opened windows list. Someone might have dragged it all
the way to the right or all the way to the left or something. Just try
dragging these around on the taskbar and see if it works.

Hi Derek,
Please download and apply the following edit:

Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar (Line 240)

After this do NOT log-off or re-boot. Simply right click on the taskbar and
select task manager. Flip to the processes tab and highlight EXPLORER.EXE
and click on end process. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog too. After
this click on File>New Task and type explorer.exe and press enter.
