I bought a PC and under Documents and Settings I have folders:

All Users
Default User
Owner
win xp

How do I change the "win xp" to something I want to call it? It is a system
folder and won't let me rename it. I've tried various things that I've
found on these newsgroups but nothing to change this folder.

Thanks for any help.
Debbie

You can't change the name of the folder, its permanently tied to that user
profile. What you can do is create a user profile with the name the way you
want its associated folder to appear, then copy the old profile data to the
new profile.

Copy a User Profile:

Open System in Control Panel. On the User Profiles tab, and under Profiles
stored on this computer, click the user profile you want to copy, and then
click Copy To.

In the Copy To dialog box, under Copy profile to, type the location for the
new profile, or click Browse to select the path.
Click Change to open the Choose User dialog box, click a new user from the
Names list, and then click Add. The new user name will appear in Add Name.
Click OK to add the user as a new user profile on your computer.

Note: You must be logged on as an administrator to the local computer to
copy user profiles. To open a Control Panel item, click Start, point to
Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click the appropriate icon.

Doug,

When I click on the user profile I want to copy, the "Copy to" button is
dimmed. Also, there is another profile called "Account Unknown".

I am the only user on this machine. So am I automatically logged on as an
administrator?

Thanks for your help.
