when my computer goes into Workstation Locked mode I lose
any files that I am transferring or downloading. How do
I disable the Workstation Locked feature so that my data
transfers are not broken?

Are you an administrator of the machine/domain? It's probably in your
screen saver dialog to require a password when the machine comes out of the
screen saver.

Right click the Desktop, select Properties, Screen Saver and uncheck the box
On resume, password protect.

Alternatively, see http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm, Line 32,
KeepRAS Connection (FUS) and download either the EXE or REG fix. For the REG
file, download it and double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.
Reboot the computer. This setting keeps Dial up connections active when
using Fast User Switching, or logging off. It may solve your problem as
well. The EXE version allows you to toggle the setting on/off.
