Hello there: I've been running xp pro. for about 8 months now and it's rock
solid. However, tonight, after starting up and going online I suddenly got a
message popping up saying the RPC 'whatever' had unexpectedly terminated and
the system was going to reboot, which it did, stayed up for about 10mins and
did the same thing again and again.....
I tried a system restore, it had been up for about 4 days, but that didn't
solve the problem. So I went into the Services section of Admin. Tools and
found RPC and told it to just restart RPC if it terminated, not reboot. So
now I've been up for about 30 mins. All seems fine except that in the
Component Services Event viewer, under both Application and System tabs
there are continuous warnings and errors with messages I haven't a clue
about. I've also just this minute received a message saying that General
Host Services for Win32 has failed.
I would appreciate some help with what I should do next. Or do nothing, if I
don't need to.
Thanks again
brian
