Maybe check your virtual memory settings.
Start - Control Panel - System - Advanced - Performance
Settings - Advanced - Change Button will take you to
where you can see this setting. choose for the operating
system to manage it if it is not already set that way.

Vickie,
You probably have a corrupted message folder in OE, usually =
"Folders.dbx" . You should do the following:
1. In OE> TOOLS> Options> Maintenance tab> Make sure "Compact messages =
in the background" is turned off.
2. In OE> FILE> Select "Work Off-line". Also click on Local Folders.
3. In OE> FILE> Folders> Compact All Folder.
4. Now wait until the PC finishes compacting your message folders. Don't =
use your PC for anything. It might take some time.
5. You will need to do#2 to 4 on a regular basis, especially if you go =
to allot of binary and music newsgroups.
6. Move out the INBOX folder of messages, create New Local folders and =
move the messages there.
7. Create message rules that direct messages right into the Local =
folders that you have created, when you download email. Use the INBOX =
folder as little as possible.=20
8. Also on create new Local folders (maybe create & name them for each =
month) and move those messages out of the SENT Items folder on a regular =
basis. Do not make the new folders a subfolder of the SENT Items folder.
