Sound icon

How can I get a sound icon to appear in my toolbar.I had
one when I used windows 98, but having recently installed
windows xp, I can't seem to find it ,it is a pain having
to adjust the volume via the start up menu....

Start, Control Panel, Sounds and Audio
1st Tab "Volume", check "Icon in Systembar" (sorry, dutchspeaking, maybe
wrong terminology)
