window XP instalation

trying to load windows xp. when I get to the agreement it
sayes to press F8 I do and nothing happens. It seems none
of the F keys do anything when propted. F6 is the other
key at this point. I can't get any futher until I find out
why Please help thank you John

Do you have an "F Lock" key on your keyboard? If yes, before you have any
Windows to work with, you may find that you have to hold that key down
while pressing one of the function keys (F8, F5, etc).
