In windows xp it looks at all files, and files that are
zip up (using winzip). Is there a way I can disable this
option?

Thanks

Jeffrey,

First go to Control Panel. Open up Folder Options. Select the File Types
tab. Scroll to the bottom of the list of registered file types to find 'ZIP
File'. Click to highlight it and then select the Change button below. That
will open up a window where you will select another program to open up ZIP
files. Make sure to check the small box 'Always use the selected program...'
then click OK, then Apply.

Good luck--hope this works out.

Hi Jeffrey,

Stop Search from Scanning ZIP files:

Un-register the zip and cab file dlls, then re-register them after that. Go
to Start/Run and type in:

Before Search:
regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 /u cabview.dll

After Search:
regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
regsvr32 cabview.dll
