FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT READ ATTACHMENTS OUTLOOK
EXPRESS. THEY SHOW UP IN SHADOW GREY, BUT I AM UNABLE TO
SAVE THEM OR READ THEM. I HAD THE SAME TROUBLE WITH
WINDOW 2000. ON ALL OF MY COMPUTERS.

WHAT HAVE I NOT ACTIVATED OR IS THERE A PATCH THAT I AM
MISSING.

The ability to get at attachments to email in OE6 SP1 is disabled for
security reasons... the patch has re-enabled this security feature.
Here's what you need to do:
Open OE6 and select tools/options
Select the security tab
Make sure the check box beside "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked and you should be
OK(as long as the attachment is not a virus).
