outlook express and odd behavior

i use outlook express for reading mail and news groups.hotmail is my default
mail program and i downloaded the folders into outlook express for offline
reading.
as you might be aware i had lots of problems recently-- so big, then nachi .
recovered by way of format, reinstall and troubleshooting with help from
Kelly-mvp.(and doug too while i am at it).
from that time onwards my outbox is showing the sent mail still in it (and
so i even sent the same message twice.)
the mail is not appearing in the sent mail folder though that option has
been checked in outlook express-- tools-- options-- send. any work around
for it.?thanks

good news folks--it corrected itself. but why? iam still curious to know--if
anyone can throw light on it--
