Problem with French version of WindowsXP

I have a new computer and as I live in France it came
with WindowsXP in French.
I thought I could manage in French but find I am not
getting full value from Windows because I do not
understand some of the terms in French.
Is there any way I can change from the French version to
an English version usinf the internet??

No. Uninstall the French version and clean-install an English version
of Windows XP.

Wont this delete any device specific drivers that may be
hard to find, unless thru the french or japanese websites

Third-party drivers for the hardware usually are shipped with the
devices or the computer. Of course they have to be reinstalled
afterwards. I did never run into a problem with that these drivers are
in a different language, running English-language versions of Windows
and many applications in English here in Germany where you usually
(not in all cases) get German drivers for the hardware.

It can't be done without reinstalling with an English version of Windows,
unfortunately.
