WXPH (sp1) and upto date.
This has happened about three times.
When roaming around being in a muddle, with several instances of IE open at
a time, I come to close them all with 'X'
Yet thiere is one more IE on taskbar, I restore it and it slips down and to
the left (nothing shows) so of course I just close it.
Anyone got an idea what it might be ?

With only that one odd IE window active on the taskbar, right click on the
taskbar and choose Cascade. That should force the window to default
dimensions and give you a peek at what it contains.
This seems to be a recent occurence. I've read a few posts on these boards
in the last few days that mention the same odd tiny window. No info yet on
what is causing it to appear.

What's the point of a hidden pop-up (for blind people perhaps).
Pop-ups where coming by the bucketfull at one time (don't make sense, I
couldn't read them all cos another was coming up).
Anyway, thanks for your reply 'Doug Knox'

Thanks, 'Sharon F', I'll give that a try if/when it happens again.

Glad I'm not alone anyway. :)

Javascript can be running in that window, forcing more popups on whatever
schedule they decide. Or just about anything else you can do with
Javascript or Java.

Often sites make money by how many people they get to go to an advertiser's
site, so that site doesn't care if you see the ads or not. Also those
hidden windows usually spawn other popups and because many people know that
by bringing a window into focus and then clicking the X in the corner will
close it, when they try to do that the window won't open. Just right-click
on the the entry in question from the taskbar and choose Close
