WMP lists no devices!

Hi, how is everybody doing?

When I want to copy music using Windows Media Player 9 series I now cannot
see a listing of any recorders I have on one of my machines. I have two
optical recorders - a CDRW and a DVD+R/RW. The right panel is empty on the
copy window.

This problem came up suddenly just a few days ago and there were no
software/hardware changes made to this particular machine for a few weeks
now.

I can see the devices when I open Tools - Options and click on the Devices
tab, though.

I tried reinstalling the media player but this did not help.

CD, or DVD, writing capabilities using the WinXP Pro built-in utility as
well as using Nero Express and NeroVision Express works just fine.

Any pointers will be very gratefully received!
