I have programs that start up when I turn my computer on
and they are running in the background and I do not want
them to run unless I turn them on. I used to know how to
keep these programs from running when I first turn on my
computer but I forget. Can anyone help me?? Thank you

Check the program itself for an option to load at startup and disable it
there. If you can't find it there, click Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG
Go to the Startup tab.
