I am building a computer and want to use a cartridge
system for my hard drives so that I can have some security
and let my inlaws use one when they are in town. My
question is can I buy one copy of Windows XP PRO and
install it on all 3 hard drives that will be used in the
same computer? Buying 3 copies of XP would be cost
prohibitive for me. Thanks.

Legally .......... no.
What's more windows will detect same installation on same machine & reject
installation.
It has to be done with a dif number.

It has been reported in the XP newsgroups that you WILL need 3 licenses.

Legally, no, but how long are they going to be in town? (note: it should be
illegal for out-of-town in-laws to visit for more than 29 days anyway)
