View Full Version : Adding Program to All Prrograms List on Start menu
Dave G.
April 23rd 03, 08:10 AM
I have recently reinstalled Windows XP, and moved some of my programs to my
F: drive. I would like for some to appear on the All Programs list that
comes up when you click Start. They are installed, but don't show up the
All Programs list. Can anyone tell me how can I manually add programs to
that list? Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Move the shortcuts from the local user start menu folder to the allusers
start menu folder.
From: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs
To: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
You may find that some programs need to be reinstalled under each profile
(depends on the software). Just install it to the same program folder each
time.

Would this also fix the problem that I have with Paint Shop Pro V5 and XP.
In my account (administrator) I can use all the features of PSP .,In the
three other accounts when starting
PSP I get the message "failed to update registry ,you may need to use
regedit"and some of the tools are not available .I have put PSP in the
allusers folder but it has made no difference.
Thanks.

Hi Kevin,
That could be a sign that it needs to be installed under that user profile.
