More useful may be for you to download OpenExpert at
http://www.baxbex.com/openexpert.html , which is a free
(for home use) shell extension that has never given me a
glitch.

Here is an example of how it works: Say you have
an .html document and have IE set as default. If you
click on it, it will naturally open in IE. But with
OpenExpert, you right-click over the document, and have
an "Open With" menu that you select programs from to open
the document. In this example, the menu might include an
alternate browser, NotePad, a high-end HTML editor,
WINWORD, and whatver else you set that would be useful to
you.
