What is the maximum amount of RAM that can usefully be installed in
XP?
ISTR it was 512MB in W98.

Quite right, but I couldn't see my original posting, a problem that
has occured once before with my news server. I should have explained
this. The original and the answers are now visible.

Win98 didn't really have a 512MB limit, and XP will support up to 4GB :-)
