I installed Windows xp upgrade (had Windows 98SE prior to
that) and the installation process has compromised my
Internet explorer 5, so it cannot connect to it's home on
internet, and it cannot be uninstalled. Also, I am not
able to download new internet explorer 6 because the setup
file that I downloaded cannot find proper place on internet
to get the download. I would appreciate any advice on how
to either get my Explorer 5 to run, or how to install
Explorer 6. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

Start/run this command (copy/paste to avoid errors):

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%windir%\Inf\ie.inf

It will install IE6 (you can't install IE5 on WinXP).
