How do you reinstall or repair system without CD? XP Home
was factory installed, but all help files are saying I
must have the CD to repair. Help.

General help documents are going to be based on a standard XP installation
CD. The directions, as you've found out, do not always apply to system
where XP has been preinstalled by the computer manufacturer. Repair and
restore steps can vary widely from one manufacturer to the next.

The specifc directions for your system should be outlined in the system's
documentation. To find them: check any paper manuals, help files provided
by the manufacturer, the online technical support site of the manufacturer
or give your technical support folks a phone call.

The machine has to have been provided with *some* means of putting it
back to ex-factory state. With some, notably HP, this is on a hidden
partition on disk, and you have to hit a hot key at power on to use it.
But read its manual
