If you want to manually change the icon, edit the "desktop.ini" file in that
particular folder;
==================================
[.ShellClassInfo]
IconFile=C:\WINDOWS\system32\SHELL32.dll
IconIndex=22
==================================

Change the IconIndex to match your favorite icon. To know the icons
available under shell32.dll, use change icon for any other shortcut file.

Rocky, Try changing the following Registry key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\DefaultIcon

%SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,3 to
%SystemRoot%\System32\shell32.dll,xx (of your choice)

Hi Rocky,

Meanwhile, I came across this MSKB:

How to Change the Default Icons for Folders in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310192

It says "you can't". Possible only for shortcuts. Let's see if any expert
can help. (David Candy??????)
