Not that I am aware of in XP directly, however if you go
and download the Google toolbar which is regarded by many
as the best web search engine, you will notice on that
google tool bar that sits below the URL address once
loaded
http://toolbar.google.com/
there is an option in there that allows you to block pop
up ads etc and they come from the Internet, and this easy
to use tool will allow you to do this quiet seemlessly.
Good luck with it but this is the simplest and quick way
to fix this annoyance.
