How do i get my pc to log on automaticaly

i am at my wits end on trying to get my pc to log on
automaticay, it allways comes up with the star screen,
where i have to click on my name before it logs on, there
is only one button there which is my name and it is the
stupidest thing for me to have to wait for it to load and
click things rather than just turn my pc on, please help

Nigel ... go to Control Panel, User Accounts, click on 'Change the way users
log on or off' and UNcheck 'Use the Welcome screen'.

.... in addition, although you've not indicated that you have set a password,
if you have done so, check further down in this newsgroup for Kelly's reply
to 'HOW TO CHANGE LOGIN OPTIONS'.

Click Start, Run and enter CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2 Uncheck Users must enter
a username and password. Click Apply. Enter your username and leave the
password blank, if you haven't assigned one.
