If one chooses "Standard PC" during installation, will XP
still support multi-threading?

I'm seeking a suitable "computer type" to specify during
installation that disables ACPI while still supporting
multi-threading.

All windows multithread. Even Dos had a similar arrangement. Did you mean
something else? Multi processor perhaps.
