Does anyone know of any way I can set my machine to
automatically re-boot either at specified times or every
24 hours or so?
Hope you can help.

Create a Scheduled Task for any application, then open the Properties
of the task and overwrite the command-line with the SHUTDOWN command.
Details for about how to set up the command-line are available with
SHUTDOWN /?
at a DOS prompt.
