Hi,

I am having real problems performing windows update. I
have recently completed a clean install on two of my
machines and they are now both unable to update from
microsoft. I have never had this problem before and i have
used the same copy of windows XP that was on my previous
machines. Any help would be great

Do you see a 404 page unavailable msg?
Ensure the XP firewall is turned on, do a virus scan, using uptodate
definitions.
Or use one of the online scanners, eg frm www.symantec.com
This behaviour can be caused by a virus
I recently setup a new pc, out of the box. and got infected in the time it
took to create a dialup connection, turn on the firewall and download the
latest virus deffinitions.
