I just received a laptop that has XP Home on it. The rest
of my home network is W2K and I'm having two problems that
I'm sure are just configuration issues, but I'm stumped.

First, I usually map drive across the network by using the
\\computername\C$ or \\computername\D$ function in W2K to
share and copy files. XP Home won't let me do this.

Second, I cannot share my printers that are connected to
the W2K systems.

I've been told that upgrading to XP Profsssional would fix
both of these issues, but I hate to spend $200+ if there
are workarounds.

HELP!!

You can connect XP Home and W2K, also share printers; Thats the setup I
have, unfortunately I cannot remember exactly how I did it, I followed the
various win help files, so it wasnt a workaround, I do remember it was a
pain
Best of luck,
David
