I somehow downloaded a program called xupiter but now
cannot erase it from my computer. it says that the
program is running and I can't erase it. I don't know
how to turn the program off. It's one of those ad
blasters. Any ideas?

These programs will get rid of the junk for you.

To simplify the process of keeping the Temp and Temporary Internet folders
cleared, use this free program: Empty Temp Folders. I've been using it for
several years.

Your PC also is probably loaded with Spyware. Download and run Spybot -
it's also free.

I should have added that you might want to use a decent spyware blocker.
Spyware Blaster is excellent for this as it does not allow spyware to
install http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
