I have a piece of software that requires a key code from
the manufacturer to run.
The software installs ok, but when I input the key code,
which you have to ring up and get, i get an error
message,
Run-time error '5', Invalid procedure call.

The software developer says that it is caused by the way
xp was installed on the pc and they cant help.

Any advice/ideas/tips?

I bought the pc new with xp pre-installed.

Hi Jay,

To put it mildly, they are full of bull - it's their software that is buggy,
not XP. They need to provide a solution, or you need to get your money back.
A runtime error in their program indicates bad coding on THIER part.
