I have XP Pro loaded on a new machine. I have a network
consisting of 98SE machines (5) and Win2K machines (2). I
have a cable modem and router (with a firewall). I can
configure the XP machine to properly share its resources
and access other machines shared resource (NOT using
Internet Connection Sharing "ICS"). However, when I
reboot, the XP machine automatically reconfigures the
Network to use ICS and thereby block access from my other
machines and prohibits the XP box from accessing shared
network resource. When I try to use a shared resource I
get a message stating that the resource is not accessible.

I know the configuration I am trying to use is not
recommended by Microsoft, but it has work for several
years without problems prior to XP. I don't want any
single machine to have to depend on another one in the
network to gain internet access. How can I make the
network config permanent?
