Outlook doesn't work in XP?

I can't access E-mail account in domain name co.uk with O.E, I doubt that
O.E clashes with XP. In the example of lycos.co.uk, when connection made to
server, the pop-up message box requests username and password again and
again no matter if you type correct. Why is that? Thank you!
