When I go to My Computer and try to do a properties on C: I get a box
stating The specified module could not be found.
C:\Progr~1\Iomega\Common\iomcopydiskshellext.enu.I LSR I tried to hook up
my old parallel port zipdrive on this new machine using the latest software
from IOMEGA and it was so bad I gave up on the idea and uninstalled the
software and threw the drive away. Apparently the Iomega software does not
uninstall itself completely. I have to click that error box out of the way
maybe 3 times before it will give me the properties for C: Is there any way
to remove this Iomega crap from this machine for good?

This will not help you to get rid of your problem.
But the Iomega ZIP-100 Parallel works in Windows XP without any Iomega
software or driver.
You just need to use a different setting for the Parallel (EPP) port in
Device Manager.
Maybe the utility "AutoRuns" can tell you where in XP is tried to start
the Iomega program on your computer so that you can kill that.

Well I will try once again to get it to work. I will play with the port if
this Dell 8250 will let me. Theres not a whole lot in the bios you can mess
with. I think the Autoplay was being a problem with the drive also. I think
that autoplay slows things down considereably while it tries to decide what
to do with packet cd's and anything else you stick in a drive so I'm going
to turn it off for selected drives. I know that TweakUI lets you do this and
theres probably someplace else to do it also. Thanks for the reply. This
still doesnt get the message out of properties but everything helps.

I find that the Dell techs are very helpful and perhaps you should have
contacted them first! :-)
