I had similar problems with the Linksys wireless access point and Windows
XP. The problem is that the wireless PC's don't get an IP address from the
DHCP (XP) server. When I connect in wired configuration everything is fine.
Because the lack of time I have not played with it further.
Perhaps someone has encountered this problem and managed to solve it.

Does the error message say "Destination host unreachable"? If so, it
indicates that something is wrong with the TCP/IP configuration on
each computer -- it can't find a path to the other computer's IP
address.

On each computer, right click the network connection and click Status
| Support | Details. What does it show for IP address, subnet mask,
default gateway, and DNS server? The values should be something like:

IP Address: 192.168.1.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS Server = your ISP's DNS server address

Does the error message say "Ping request could not find host"? If so,
it could indicate that you're pinging the computer name and that
NetBIOS over TCP/IP isn't enabled. To enable it:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the local area network connection and click Properties.
3. Double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
4. Click Advanced.
5. Click WINS.
6. Click the Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP button.
