We run a small XP(-Home version) peer-to-peer network, and
are running into the limit of 5 connections. In researching
the problem, I learned that "installing" a network printer
creates a "pipe" which counts against the 5 connection limit.
We had previously turned off the "auto search for printers
and folders" option, but now want to turn it back on again,
since this this option appears to allow access to a printer
on the network without counting as a connection.
Checking the box in the folders option does NOT turn this
feature back on. And I can't find anything in Microsoft's KB.
How do you turn the autosearch function back on?
