I have a network with internet connection sharing in my
house. We connect to the internet through a cable modem
and have 3 computers currently on the network. We have a
router (of course) and all computers obtain IP
automatically. The three computers on the network are
connection fine, but I am having problems when trying to
set up another. I ran the network set up wizard and added
it to the workgroup we are using (MSHOME), but when I try
to view the other computers in the workgroup it gives the
error: Mshome is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
admin of this server to find out if you have access
permissions.

Does anyone know why it is not letting me on the network?
I can get on the internet from the computer, but not into
the workgroup. I also find it odd that one of my other
computers it set up with the workgroup 'WORKGROUP' but is
still able to access the network. Any help on this would
be greatly appreciated.

I've written a web site that should help you solve the problem:

Windows XP Network Troubleshooting
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/troubleshoot

Pay particular attention to the sections on firewalls (disable and
un-install while troubleshooting), protocols (use only one), and
NetBIOS over TCP/IP (enable it).

That's how it's supposed to work. Windows networking supports
multiple workgroups, and computers in any workgroup can access
computers in any other. Workgroups have nothing to do with Internet
access.
