When I want to use programs in the Tasks- E-mail and
Internet, I get this message:"This file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action.
Create an association in the folder option control panel."
What does the message mean and how can I restore these
programs to their original state?

Try the Works newsgroup. It means that something has changed a setting so
that Works doesn't know what program to use for that task.
Sorry I can't be of more help, but I've only used an old version of Works
once.
