XP running very slow

XP Pro started runing very slow today. Stopping and
locking up a bit.
When I go into the Recycle bin, I have to wait while the
flashlight looks for the directory.

Usually, (brand new system) my computer is rocking fast.

XP Pro, 2.6, 1 GB ram.

Can anyone help?

You havent given any details. Try System Restore back to the previous day

Did you make any changes to your system? Have you run chkdsk or defrag
lately? Running an AV program that is up-to-date?
There's so many possibilities. Would you care to provide some details to
narrow it down?
