Today I went out and purchased a 10/100 NIC card for my
Dell 2350 machine, which I want to connect to my Dell
Latitude laptop which has a xircom PCMIA NIC fitted. The
box had the XP compatability stamp on the box. I
installed the NIC card, started machine and got a pop up
message that said the software I was trying to install
had not passed the logo test. So I continue anyway. I
check for any IRQ clashes and the status of the device is
that it is working correctly.

Now I run the networking wizard, I get a message that
connections have not been made although they have and the
cable is a crossover cable. So I continue with the wizard
and get to the end where it says the wizard is
configuring this connection and it sits there. I go into
task manager and it says the program is not responding so
I end it manually. When I reboot all sorts of errors
start coming up so I have to do a restore.

Any ideas what I am doing incorrectly its doing my head in.

Regards

you may want to download the new driver first.
