outlook express help

hi, a friend tried to send me a bunch of photos (i'm not
sure how many, but i think it was quite a few)

and now express is in a continuous loop -- it says it's
still sending the email and he can't delete it.

he's also seeing an hourglass.

we need to delete the file...he tried to delete it but
can't seem to do that either. any suggestions?

Monica,

If there are no other messages in the outbox that he's worried about, have
your friend reboot the computer and DO NOT open Outlook Express. Go to
www.dougknox.com, Win XP Fixes, Find and Open the OE Mail Store. This small
script will open an Explorer window, directly to the location his mail files
are stored in. Locate the OUTBOX.DBX file and delete it. It will be
recreated, automatically by OE.

I'm just going from my own experience here. But this is what I would do.

I would click 'stop' so that the mail stops sending. Then I would go to the
outbox and delete everything that's in it.

Then I would shut down OE and go and find the Outbox.dbx and Deleted.dbx
files and delete those too.

If you wanted you could re-boot and then open OE again.

I am NOT an expert in anything, but this is just what I would do.
