I've read that the 2-5 min "applying personal settings"
splash was due to the name resolution of WinXP. I guess
DNS is default over NetBIOS. Is there a way to force the
XP boxes to resolve thru NetBIOS first, thereby forgoing
the DNS resolution. I have a tiny network (2000 Server, 3
XP workstations) and it would seem pointless to go thru
setting up DNS in this setup. Thanks!
