I had a functioning workgroup with a dialup ICS for
WinXP+W2K BUT ONLY USING static IP addressing.
I am now using a DSL modem & my ISP subscription uses
dynamic addressing only.
QUESTIONS:
1. Is it possible to use dynamic IP addressing in a peer
to peer workgroup for a WinXP & a W2K PC?
2. IF so, please specify the TCP/IP settings &/or other
necessary protocols.
Many thanks - Bruce

Yes. Setup ICS host as DHCP server.

Save yourself some headaches and get a router with a built in switch. I
installed a D-Link in a home last year and everything worked right out of
the box. router connected to the DSL modem and gave out IP addresses to
everything connected to it. Set the PC's to get IP addresses automatically.
One reason I suggest this is I've heard ICS sucks when using DSL.
