I have 2 computers networked with a crossover cable, and i am trying to get
the win98 pc to use the adsl connection to the net, the 2 pc`s see each
other etc but i cant get them to share the adsl connection.

Any ideas

The best way to share out DSL is to use a Router. It would connect to
your modem and then your PC's would connect to the Router. The Router would
share your connection out and give your PC's IP addresses (DHCP). You would
need a Router with a built in Switch for multiple PC's. Check at D-Link or
Linksys.
ICS can work like you are trying but I heard it doesn't work very well.
Use the sharing tab in the connection properties of your DSL connection.

Have you actually used ICS, Daniel? In my experience, the versions of
ICS in Windows XP and 2000 work quite well and are very reliable. I
can't say the same thing about ICS in Windows 98 Second Edition or
Windows Me.

Dale, I've written a web page that should help you enable Internet
Connection Sharing on the XP computer:

Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics

If your ADSL connection uses PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet), enable sharing
on the PPPoE connection, not on the Ethernet connection.
