Just installed windows xp home on my laptop. The screen
size does not fill to the edges of the screen, but
instead has a black border around the perimeter
approximately one inch in size. How do I restore to full
screen?

Notebook computers require specialized drives only the manufacturer
can provide. Visit your computer manufacturer's website and =
download/install
any Windows XP drivers applicable to your specific notebook model,
especially the correct video adapter drivers.

RCM,

Laptop displays do this when set to a lower resolution than for which they
were designed. Go to the Display applet in the Control Panel and try
increasing the resolution until it is what you are familiar with. If you
can't get it to that point, go to the laptop manufacturer's website and
download display drivers for your model.
