I seem to have developed a problem where my 98se PC can't
map a drive on one of my XP PC's anymore. Here is what I
can do from the three PC's.

XP1:
No firewall, can ping XP2 and 98SE, can map a drive
on 98SE. Has File and Printer sharing. IP is 192.168.1.101
can only IE \\192.168.1.101\, IE to my ISP fine

98SE
No firewall, can ping XP1 and XP2, can map a drive on
XP1. Has file and printer sharing But can not map a drive
to XP2 IP is 192.168.1.102 can only IE \\192.168.1.101\,
Can IE to my ISP fine

XP2:
No firewall, can ping XP1 and 98se, IP is 192.168.1.100
With IE can \\192.168.1.101\ and 102, Can IE to my ISP
fine.

So to sum it up all three go through a Linksys router and
can get to the Internet just fine and everyone can ping
everyone else. All are in the same Workgroup. XP1 and 98se
can see each other through the View Network Computers, but
can not see the XP2 PC. But I just can't map a share on
XP2 from the 98se or XP1 PC.

I've scanned this forum and can't find anything that
relates to MY problem. 8*)

Thanks for your help in advance

Read a post this morning that said that XP relies more heavily on DNS.
This explains things to some degree. If you can't use the PC name to
connect to an XP machine you have DNS problems and there for little or no
browse ability. That's why you need to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on all
PC's on the network. Make sure NetBIOS is enabled (restart if you made a
change) then go to Start/Run and type the computer name you are trying to
connect to. If it doesn't bring up a window with the shared resources for
that computer then you have DNS problems.
