I've been told there's a virus in the file "jdbgmgr.exe"
which came to me by being in someone's address book. I
found three such files in my C drive. I was told to delete
them. Does anyone have info on this?

Jdbgmr is NOT a virus it is the Microsoft Debugger Registrar for Java
responsible for graphics /multimedia realted operations.
If you have delete it use sfc to restore it

It's a hoax that has been around for at least a year.
