I am using a Dell Truemobile mini-PCI card and Windows XP
on a laptop to connect to a DLink 900AP+ hub. All have the
latest drivers and utilities.

The problem is that the wirelss network connection which
is very stronf when it works drops every few minutes.
Instead of automatically reconnecting, as it is supposed
to, it tells me there are one of more networks available
and I have to manually reconnect to the network. How can I
avoid this hassle.

Are you using WEP? If so be sure to uncheck Enable IEEE 802.1x
authentication on the Authentication tab in the properties of your wireless
network.
