Hi,

I have 2 computers linked via a Netgear router. This
computer is using WinXP Pro and the other is using
Win2000. My goal is for these 2 computers to share files.

At the moment, both computers are in the same WORKGROUP,
which is MSHOME. This computer may read and access
folders and files shared by the other computer by NOT
vice versa.

When the other computer tried to connect to this one, an
error message popped out saying, "Need authorization" ...
I guess some type of login or password.

Do you guys have any idea?

Thank you,

Eric

first, ping the computer IP from another. if it works, ping the computer
name. then use net view \\computername. post back with the result.

Create matching user accounts on both computers: same user name and
password.
