I've lost Default Beep, too - on my primary account. But
then I activated the Guest account, and Default Beep was
there! So I then created a new user account, and Default
Beep was there, too! The problem has something to do
with user settings in the Documents and Settings folder.
It may also have something to do with the Media Player 9
download and install, because I noticed Default Beep
missing shortly after I installed Media Player 9.
I complained to Microsoft tech support, but they were no
help.
There's got to be some way to restore the sound event
without transferring all my settings over to a new user
account on my computer.
