network and printing

i have several machines networked through a hub. we all
need to print on a large format plotter. the plotter we
have is old and is not on the ethernet network; i have
just connected it to a computer that has xp. i can print
from that computer but cannot find the plotter on that
computer from any of the other computers. this is strange
because i had the plotter connected to an older computer
and could print through that computer from any other
computer.

when i access the new computer that has xp and the plotter
attached from any other computer, there are no printers
listed. why can't i find the plotter?
