I have just upgraded from Windows NT to Windows XP. Before
i had no problems browsing the internet and using chat
sites, now i cannot enter any chat site, and if i do i
then have problems accessing the internet again.

My browser is Internet Explorer.

I know very little about anything technical but could it
be due to something to do with my browser not being Java
enabled ? The Java applet's don't appear anymore - just
before they would this is when the internet crashes.

Any ideas ?

Thanks,

Mark

Due to legal issues between Microsoft and Sun Microsystems, Microsoft have
stopped distributing their Java Virtual Machine (the thing that makes Java
Applets tick) with Windows and Internet Explorer installations.

Apparantly the VM is available with SP1 for Windows XP, but if you do not
want to use SP1, search on Google for msjavx86.exe this is the core
redistributable install package for the Microsoft VM.
